Re: Updated Stage 4
Restrictions- Kinder and Childcare Closures except for Permitted
Workers or Vulnerable Children
Monday August 3, 2020
Dear Families,
As you will have heard, metro Melbourne has moved into Stage 4
restrictions which includes the closure of kindergartens and
childcare services except
for permitted workers and vulnerable children from
midnight Wednesday 5 August. Until then we will be operating
as normal.
As soon as possible, we intend to provide a form for families to
complete so parents can notify us if they are either a ‘permitted’
worker or their children are considered vulnerable, and they intend
to continue attending. The form will also include attendance days
you intend to apply for this permitted work. We encourage parents
to contact their employers to better understand if they are a
‘permitted’ worker.
Can we ask families to let us know as soon as possible if they fall
into these two categories and intended attendance days as we will
organise educators to be onsite rather than remote teaching? We
thank families who have let us know already.
We will provide further information as plans are confirmed around
home learning as we aim to ensure we keep families and children
connected as part of the Diamond Creek Memorial Kindergarten
community throughout the Stage 4 restrictions.
We will continue to charge half fees for families in attendance and
waiver fees for families with children at home. This means you will
not be charged any out-of-pocket fees if yourchild is not
permitted to attend the service.
We will keep families up to date with further advice as we receive
it from authorities. Like the authorities, we also hope these
measures will see us together again in Term 4.
