30th September 2020
Good morning Families,
I was going to write a
newsletter but have been so incredibly busy over the holidays with the
reopening and licensing of Coniston Street, school transition for preschool
children, maintenance at kinder including the finalising of the garden project
and waiting for instruction from the government and then planning for Term 4 in
line with everchanging covid19 requirements. Goodness, no rest for the wicked.
Before I start, I want to thank Dee and Simone who have again gone above and
beyond, working an awful lot with me throughout the school holidays. It is
really appreciated.
Next week being the
beginning of Term 4 will see all of our families welcomed back to kinder. We
are thrilled to be able to offer the full timetable including extended hours
and both 3yo days. Drop off will be the same though, as with stage 3 and will
require the same staggered starts (social distancing between families and we
don’t mind when you arrive or pick up from kinder as long as you are socially
distanced from other families) and drop offs at the door which children have
been doing for most of the year and are very competent at. We just ask
families let us know if you will not be attending your usual booked
days/sessions.
After discussions with
committee representatives and even though we don’t attract the Department
funding for free fees, but fairness to families, we will not be charging any
fees except for aftercare (being an add on program) in Term 4.
Finally as you will
know, Frances chose to take leave in Term 2 and Frances is now on Long Service
Leave and has been since early August and will be on leave until next year. Our
existing small team cannot continue to cover all of Frances’ hours, so we are
in the midst of hiring a new Diploma trained Early Childhood Educator. Our committee
president Shane, Simone, Dee and I will be conducting interviews this Friday
and hope from this point we find an amazing educator to join our team, working
in the preschool group, starting October 12. The 3yo team will be Simone and
Nicole on Wednesday and I will join Simone on Fridays.
We are very excited to
be able to teach face to face again and cannot wait to see your little people
next week.
Warm regards, Bron.
